Cambodian Garment Factory WorkersPhnom Penh, Cambodia – Tuesday, 17 August 2010-08
2 female garment workers were fired once they did not pay compensation to Chinese boss after argument. Ms. Keo Channy and Ms. Chan Ravy were sued in the case of causing injuries to his boss at NingShing Factory on August 16, 2010 after they had small dispute with each other.

Each of these workers were asked to pay $100 for compensation in apologize and for returning to normal work. However, they did not have enough ability to spend; hence, they were fired and cut their salaries for payment.

The cause of this argument because one of these 2 garment workers took a small fruit (Plae Chan) to the factory and that Chinese boss threw it away until they fought. Later, Chinese boss prepared the lawsuit and sued them of causing injuries.

Refer to one garment worker who was their workmates stated that these 2 females could not work anymore as well as they were jailed except they could find money for those policemen. She added “The two garment workers will face the unemployment and lose their salaries after they had no enough money to pay compensation for their Chinese boss”

Mr. Loo San, the president of Cambodian syndicate association stated “I am trying to find legal solution in order to let them back to normal work”. In addition to this report, Ningshing Factory is located in Sangkat Phnom Penh Tmey, Sen Sok District, Phnom Penh City.

Whereas the factory boss bans all workers to bring food enter the area while they are working. However, 2 garment workers were fired because of only a small Plae Chan fruit. That was so unfair and unbelievable. For further information, we try to contact those 2 workers for more confirmations, but they could not be reached.
