On Tuesday, the talk show airs daily noon-3 p./m. on KFWB/980 AM, Dr. Laura Schlessinger planed to end her radio show at the end of this year after her contract. She apologized for saying the N-word 11 times to a caller on the air that made many people criticized her because it was regarding racially hurtful word.
She said to Larry King on his CNN program “My contract is up for my radio show at the end of the year and I’ve made the decision not to do radio anymore”.
Schlessigner added she was not retiring or quitting, but she just wanted to feel stronger and freer to say what she believed and needed to be said. Moreover, Schlessigner said she wanted to be able to say what was on her mind, her heart and what she thought that was helpful or useful without getting angry from anybody.
Last week, she apologized for saying the N-word several times by on-air conversation with her caller whom she accused of being racism. Also, she said on her website she was wrong in using word in attempt to follow the philosophical point. “Laura’s people gave me a heads up earlier in the day.
She just wanted to make sure I knew. I plan to talk to her probably tomorrow (Wednesday). Right now I want to let the dust settle”, said by Ed Krampf, CBS vice-president and market manager for CBS radio stations in Los Angeles, including KFWB.
