Shirley SherrodShirley Sherrod, the Agriculture department’s director of rural development for the state of Georgia, until yesterday said that she was forced to resign from her post, because of the so called intense and racist comments that allegedly were made by her.

The agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack said on Wednesday that he would reconsider the resignation and look into the matter today so that to have a better knowledge of what exactly happened. Vilsack stated that, “I am of course willing and will conduct a thorough review and consider additional facts to ensure to the American people we are providing services in a fair and equitable manner.”

In March this year, Shirley Sherrod had made a speech wherein she stated her past mistakes and racial reconciliation; however she says that the media and especially the bloggers on the internet edited the video in a way to make it look racist. The statement in the video on the various blogging sites says that she said, she wouldn’t have given help to a white farmer 24 years ago as much as she would give today.

Now the Obama administration would look into the matter to reconsider her appointment and employment at the same post at which she was until Tuesday.
