Fastest Internet Connection Around The WorldThe state of the internet in the world has been revealed by a study which analyzed huge amounts of net traffic. The data was provided by network giants, Akamai. The study revealed that the average speed of the internet on the globe is only 1.7 Mbps though there are countries which provide much higher speeds also.

Masan in South Korea is the fastest broadband city. In the annual report, Ofcom had calculated the average speed to be 5.2 Mbps and this is much lower than that. UK slipped down this time and was ranked 23rd in the last quarterly report of Akamai.
David Belson is the head of market intelligence in Akamai and said that other countries in the study ha gotten faster.

The average speed in the UK was reported to be 12 Mbps. The speed league table had South Africa at the top and here also the average speed recorded was 12 Mbps and the average maximum being 33 Mbps. South Africa offers a speed as high as 100 Mbps but this speed is not affordable by many especially the general public. This speed can cost people several hundred dollars and thus they do not pay for it which brings down the average.
