Phnom Penh: Protesters are planning today to gather together either inside or outside the municipal court when the trial of opposition leader Sam Rainsy is taken before judge. Police in Phnom Penh will be located outside the municipal today so as to avert in case the protesters try and ignite any possible problem with the court, municipal police chief Touch Naruth said yesterday.
According to Mr. Naruth in charge of municipal police chief, “the compound of the court is not able to accommodate such a crowd of people; therefore he is so concerned that the process of the trial will be interfered by protesters,” he added, “We will have our hands in all cases that lead situations to disorder and can bring public security to our nation.” Mr. Naruth could not detail the strategies that he would take action in order to creak down the protesters. “Police do not need to be afraid of the opposition,” he said
By Mr. Chiv Keng Municipal Court President says Mr. Sam Rainsy has been prosecuted for disseminating false document and laying disinformation out. That is, he had made it in public about the encroachment of Vietnam on Cambodian sovereignty. Cambodian filed a complaint against the opposition leader, Mr. Sam Rainsy in charge of leader of Sam Rainsy Party, on February 26.
