An 11-day tennis coaching workshop is being managed by the National Olympic Committee of Cambodian (NOCC) in association with the Tennis Federation of Cambodia (TFC) with the support from the International Tennis Federation and the International Olympic Solidarity movement.
NOCC Secretary General Vath Chamroeun said at the inauguration of the course that the main purpose behind this idea was in order to empower coaches so that they could perform well in the future. This inauguration attracted 22 participants included Yi Sotheary, the female representative from the National Institute of Physical Education and Health.
The NOCC official said this was a good training programme created by the ITF and was promoted all around the world. ITF instructors included Kawaljeet Singh from India and Christopher Pillai from Sri Lanka had been appointed to join the seminar in Phnom Penh.
Before shifting to level 1 coaching, the program will deal with kids and beginners in the first three days. Orn Sambath was also the participant of this interesting program. Additionally, some of the national players have been training them in the program. This was a good way for them to get opportunity and a good chance in learning about the coaching method, said by Aneiros, the TFC technical director
