Kandal Province, Phnom Penh: There is anonymously spreading and leafleting to employees and workers of any garment and shoe production factories located in Angsnol commune on September 7, 2010. The meaning of them is make an attempt to stipulate all male and female garment workers to come out to strike in order to demand the increasing their salary up to 93 US$ plus severance and other perquisites.
It was trying to inform all garment workers about the exploitations of employers as well as factory owners. “We have to strike and to be on ourselves if we want our salary to increase.” leaflet providers.
According to authorities’ remark, the action in the evening September 03 was mostly spread every commune’s factory. At the same time, the other opposition leaflets had also been given out against the first one that trying to persuade all workers to make use of demonstration strategy. The second one was somewhat known as Liberal Worker Syndicate.
The situation was still stable at that time although there were such actions like this, reported by KOH SANTEPHEAP DAILY newspaper. Related to this issue, Cambodian government, being steered by Mr. Hun Sen, Prime Minister has been taking it into alarming consideration and has already raised proper salary-related money to them. Cambodian government will not allow garment factory owners to do whatever they want.
